The Industrial Scientific Tango TX1 is a single-gas personal monitor built around patented DualSense® Technology, which uses two redundant electrochemical sensors to measure the same target gas and provide a consolidated reading. Available configurations include CO, H2S, NH3, NO2, SO2, HCN, and CO/H2 low. Depending on the sensor, measuring ranges extend from 0–30 ppm for HCN up to 0–1,000 ppm for CO, with H2S measured from 0–500.0 ppm in 0.1 ppm increments. This redundant sensing architecture is designed to reduce the risk of monitor failure while maintaining continuous personal gas protection.

The Tango TX1 is engineered for continuous, always-on operation with a 3.6 V, 1.5 Ah primary lithium-thionyl chloride battery and up to two years of runtime, depending on operating conditions. Its compact polycarbonate housing with protective rubber overmold measures 99 × 51 × 35 mm and weighs approximately 126 g, making it suitable for wearable personal monitoring. The unit operates from -40 °C to 50 °C, supports 15–95% non-condensing humidity, and carries IP66/IP67 ingress protection. A segmented LCD, two-button keypad, replaceable battery, and replaceable sensors support straightforward field operation and long-term serviceability.

For alarm and data management, the Tango TX1 provides three visual alarm LEDs, a 100 dB audible alarm, and a vibration alarm, with the optional AlarmAmp™ increasing the audible alarm level to 110 dB. The monitor can store three months of data at 10-second intervals and up to 60 alarm events, providing useful exposure and event history for safety review. It also supports ATEX, IECEx, CSA, INMETRO, and UL hazardous-location certifications, while compatibility with the DSX™ Docking Station helps streamline instrument testing, maintenance, and reporting.
